September 19, 2011 (Tucson, AZ)—Miraval President & General Manager, Michael Tompkins and Kim Roseman, owner of the K Newby Gallery & Sculpture Garden are pleased to announce the opening of The Art at Miraval provided by K Newby Gallery & Sculpture Garden.
Tompkins said increased interest in art at Miraval prompted him to dedicate space to the new gallery. “We are thrilled to open The Art at Miraval Gallery at the resort,” said Kim Roseman. “It is such a wonderful and unique opportunity for the guests – they will not only have the opportunity to enjoy the artwork on the grounds, but they can even take a small piece of this wonderful resort home with them.”
Tompkins adds, “The process the artist uses in making their pieces, allows its creator to step beyond the outside world and be in the moment as the process occurs. It is for that reason we see art as a mindful process that our guests can observe, live with, and experience hands on at Miraval.”
With the desire to inspire guests through the beauty of art, The Art at Miraval Gallery provided by K Newby Gallery is an impressive collection of works totaling over one million dollars displayed through the resort. Presenting unique artwork from internationally-acclaimed artists with a focus on Arizona and Southwestern artists, the gallery features paintings, sculptures, art glass, ceramics and even jewelry that are all available for sale. This full service gallery offers art consultation, on site presentations and delivery.
The resort gallery is K Newby Gallery & Sculpture Gardens second location; they also have a popular location in the art community of Tubac, Arizona.
Artist workshops are part of the art scene at Miraval inviting guests to be part of the total art experience. On October 13 - 22, 2011 Mike Elsass will be demonstrating his unique technique of painting on steel.
Guests may also participate in guided art tours offered on a weekly basis.
