Flourish Body Scrub

Winter weather gets the best of our skin. Welcome in the warm weather by refreshing your skin with this at home body scrub from Miraval's Mindful Living.

What better way to do “out with the old, in with the new” than with a customized body scrub? The Miraval Flourish Body Scrub is designed to remove dead skin cells and then hydrate, firm, and soften the skin beneath.

Many Miraval guests tell me that they simply don't have enough time to incorporate good skin care into their routine. But, there are so many quick and easy ways to improve your skin! Here is an easy 10-minute morning makeover for your skin.

•  Exfoliate with a gentle scrub in the shower to slough off dead skin and reveal a fresh glow. Clarins has a great One-Step Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract.

•  Apply an eye cream to help soothe, calm, and reduce puffiness around the eye area. I recommend the Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Wrinkle Smoothing Cream, it has a great anti-aging effect!

Pull out those dark eye shadow colors and get ready for winter. Create the perfect, lustful smokey eye with Midnight Azurite Mineral Eye Shadow by La Bella Donna or another eye shadow collection with similar colors.

1. The lightest shadow in the compact, Bone, should be swept all over the lash line, lid, and into the brow arch.

2. For a light contour look, use the Grey shadow in the crease and blend up and out.

3. Add the Rust shadow for definition in the outer corner of eye, blending lightly into the Grey.

4. Apply the Deep Taupe shadow, wet or dry, along the lash line.

5. Finally, make lashes stand out with black mascara.

• Start your day with clean skin. I like to use a cleansing milk with my Clairsonic Pro in the morning to get a deep clean. The cleansing milk leaves my skin clean without feeling dry or stripped.

• Always use a toner. A toner is the second step in cleansing and it also balances out the pH level of your skin. For those with drier skin, I suggest using a spray toner. I use an Ionizing Vita Flower Mist by Red Flower; it leaves my skin refreshed.

• Winter is a great time to start a peel series. Peels are a deeper exfoliation that penetrates deeper and is longer lasting then a scrub that you would use at home. You can get peels at your local esthetician or doctor’s office, depending on the strength you are looking for. Make sure you talk it over with your dermatologist or esthetician to discuss what peel would be best for you. At Miraval's Life in Balance Spa, we offer an amazing Alpha Beta Professional Face Peel

• Use an eye cream daily. Eye creams are very important, especially in the winter when the skin has a tendency to be drier. The eye area is 4 times thinner than the skin on our face, which is why that is where we see the first signs of aging.I would recommend the Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, it uses a plant extract to diminish puffiness and tighten around the eye.
