Since its debut in 1995, Miraval has upheld a powerfully simple vision: life is more meaningful and enjoyable when physical, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual components are in harmony. The way we nourish ourselves is no exception. From nutrition lectures to cooking and baking classes, the culinary programming at Miraval aims to teach guests the techniques by which they can foster healthy relationships with food.
For those individuals meditating in caves and living in sacred
communities, enlightenment is a way of life. But what of us mere
mortals, who have careers, businesses, families and social obligations?
How do we access that state of inner peace and deep fulfillment?
indicates that there is in fact a segment of the population that is
"pre-wired" for enlightenment. With the proper knowledge, those that
have a TypeE Personality®, find they can visit the mountain top while in
the middle of a family event or business meeting.
Want to get a
quick start on exploring the TypeE Personality? Take the sixty second
TypeE quiz to find out if you are one of the 5-10 percent of the
population who are wired for enlightenment! Click here to take the TypeE quiz.
This week at Miraval, our guests had the distinct honor (and
pleasure!) of meeting Dr. Marisa Weiss. Dr Weiss is a leading breast oncologist
and the president and founder of Breastcancer.org. She shared her passion and
expertise about the topic and shared the findings of a 5 year intensive study
between her foundation and Harvard Medical School. The findings were clear and
there are steps you can take in your everyday life to lower your risk of
developing breast cancer. Dr. Marisa Weiss and her team are now sharing a
prevention message through Breastcancer.org’s Think Pink, Live Green initiative.
Here's a photo from her lecture at Miraval!
It was fitting that we hosted the lectures here at Miraval because what the Miraval team of wellness specialists teaches everyday is overwhlemingly relevant and in line with what Dr. Weiss and her team are teaching. Miraval is a great place to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle and embrace change.
Dr. Jim Nicolai recently held a signing for his new book, Integrative Wellness Rules: A Simple Guide to Healthy Living, here in Tucson. Thank you to everyone who came out to Barnes and Noble on Saturday to show their support and meet the author!
Here's what Dr. Jim had to say: "Health and wellness is so powerful when it's a shared journey. Integrative Wellness Rules is
all about telling stories of what's helped me get and stay healthy. It
was fabulous to be able to do that with the Tucson community. Thanks so
much to Barnes and Noble—they did a great job—and it was an awesome
experience being able to laugh and share with people that health does
not have to be complex or difficult to manage. It can be quick and
We are thrilled to welcome acclaimed artist Diana Madaras to Miraval!
Although her art is well-known throughout the country, Diana is
extremely popular in the Tucson area and her works can be found in
thousands of homes here in Arizona. More than being an amazing painter,
Diana is an incredibly lovely person and we are looking forward to having her work with our guests at Miraval. Here's a message from her...
My life is busy. I run the galleries, develop new art products, meet
customers, attend events, and paint. I yearn for quiet and tranquility
and a chance to create without interruption; to shut out the noise of my
“Life in Balance” is just what the doctor ordered,
and as I recover from a broken right hand (an artist’s worst nightmare),
nothing could be better than a trip to Miraval. Today, for the first
time since the accident 32 days ago, I was able to write. I will start
painting again this weekend with my right hand.
accident, I longed to spend time in my new painting studio at home, so
I’ve been painting with my left hand. I thought I would feel frustrated
when I couldn’t make the strokes I wanted, but I found the experience to
be peaceful and healing, and the paintings that resulted were emotional
and satisfying. I was surprised I could do it!
