Spa Support Lead - Full Time

Oversees the daily operations of the Spa reception desk and locker rooms, including scheduling and opening and closing procedures. Able to address guest issues and concerns in a professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish rapport with guests and handle guest issues as they arise
  • Perform routine site inspections of Spa reception desk area, locker rooms, quiet room and pool area
  • Document and implement SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for Spa desk and locker rooms
  • Ensure smooth operation of Spa in coordination with the Guest Services, Laundry and Maintenance departments
  • Order guest amenities, locker room supplies
  • Report maintenance issues and track open orders
  • Follows incident reporting procedures in case of emergencies

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule Spa desk and locker attendant staff
  • Conduct 90 day introductory and annual reviews and take disciplinary action when needed
  • Approve and submit payroll reports
  • Acts as Manager on Duty according to schedule and provide daily reports to management
  • Adheres to and enforces Miraval polices and procedures

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Previous supervisory experience up to 10 people
  • Hotel and/or guest service experience in a Spa setting is preferred

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English, bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Mathematical and Technical Skills:

  • Basic math skills
  • 10-key calculator
  • Microsoft Office a must
  • Knowledge of SpaSoft and SMS systems a plus

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be self-motivated and a problem solver and possess excellent listening and communication skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand and walk for at least 75% of the shift
  • Must be able to sit for at least 25% of the shift
  • Climb and descent stairs
  • Push, pull, bend, squat, reach and twist
  • Must be able to regularly lift at least 10 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to use hands and fingers to write, type, grasp, hold and manipulate

Environment:

  • Predominantly in-doors in an office environment with air-conditioning, heating, calm music, fountain sounds and incandescent lighting.
