Photographer Nancy J. Schroeder has worked primarily in New England and the Southwest capturing landscapes, moment photography, adventure and art photography. Nancy studied at the University of Arizona and graduated with a BFA in Photography.
Her professional career has spanned over 20 years including 5 years on Martha’s Vineyard. She was a staff photographer for the Martha’s Vineyard Times shooting black and white community news. Her adventurous side brought her to backpacking many long distance scenic trails of North America documenting her travels for lectures and workshops at adventure companies such as: REI, L.L. Bean, & Eastern Mountain Sports. She has completed The Pacific Crest Trail, The John Muir Trail, Vermont’s Long Trail and The Penne Way in England.
Nancy has been with Miraval since the opening in 1995 leading hikes and challenge activities. In 1997, Nancy designed a program called Photography in Focus which has developed into the current photography program at Miraval. Nancy contributes to local and national publications such as The New York Times.
