We currently seek an experienced and hands-on Gallery Sales Associate to work part-time at Miraval in managing art sales for Newby’s on-site collection.The goal of this position is to create a seamless bridge for resort guests between the Newby Gallery’s offerings and Miraval’s range of services and experiences.

Successful candidates will demonstrate gracious and fluid service with guests, both within the on-site gallery and throughout the resort’s public areas where Newby’s collection is also displayed.The Gallery Sales Associate will assist guests with appropriate art selections (primarily retail, but potentially wholesale and corporate sales, as well).They must be highly knowledgeable, with strong abily to speak fluently regarding art and art concepts, and able to recommend pieces based on individuals’ tastes, needs, interests, price range and other relevant factors. They must also be able to speak authoritatively on art placement with in any type of an interior. The Gallery Sales Associate must be personable, enterprising, articulate, and able to multi-task with efficiency and poise, and with a well-developed sense of how to prioritize.

Primary duties of the Gallery Sales Associate include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in stocking, price labeling, scheduling and control of inventory
  • Maintaining the on-site gallery space to ensure a clean, well-kept and inviting environment
  • Selling a wide range of art, jewelry and related merchandise to the visiting public
  • Conducting tours of works of art located throughout resort grounds for groups and individuals
  • Arranging shipment, delivery and installation of art pieces
  • Following up with clients after sales to ensure complete satisfaction and to secure potential additional sales
  • Serving as an on-site resource for guest questions and information regarding artwork and responding in a timely fashion to public inquiries about artists and or featured merchandise

In order to be considered, candidates MUST possess the following qualifications:

  • Must have at least 2 years of gallery sales or other high-end/luxury sales experience.
  • Must have a background in art, or a strong knowledge base of or interest in art history and concepts.
  • Must have an extremely professional demeanor and a polished physical presentation.
  • Must possess exceptional verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with e-mail and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Must be very personable and capable of delivering the highest levels of service to an extremely discerning clientele.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple duties simultaneously and efficiently.
  • Must be highly organized, with impeccable attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
  • Must be able to move and lift 50lbs, and sit or stand for long periods of time.
