Climbing Wall

The all-levels climbing class begins with the basics for those new to the sport, and continues to build on skills learned by exploring climbing technique for those with previous experience. From here the focus can shift to movement, footwork and body positioning while integrating breathing, trust, flexibility, balance and fun. All climbers from beginner to advanced will take away a clearer understanding of equipment, knots, and belaying.

The climbing wall is outdoors, so choose weather-appropriate clothing that is comfortable but not too baggy. Wear closed toe shoes for hiking out to the wall; we will provide proper climbing shoes at the wall. Don't forget your Miraval water bottle!

Desert Sky Zipline

The Desert Sky Zipline Experience is centered on the act of letting go and celebrating life. It is a fun event, reminiscent of being a child on the swing set. It can also matter in a deeper way as the conversation shifts to ideas of letting go of the past and moving forward into new beginnings of healthier ways of living. Yet standing on the platform with other people complicates the activity in a way that is similar to how we experience compromise in other life relationships. Communication, trust and commitment are usually intimately integrated into the discussion. The Desert Sky Zipline Experience is a great event for teambuilding and strengthening relationships. Celebrate the freedom of letting go of fear and stepping toward new beginnings as you soar from a height of 45 feet above the desert floor.

* Wear closed toed sturdy shoes, preferably sneakers. You will be harnessed during this challenge, so carefully consider your choice of pants, comfortable Yoga pants or longer shorts are desirable rather than heavier options like jeans. Don’t forget your Miraval water bottle!

Desert Tightrope

Letting go is a natural theme in Desert Tightrope because you release one rope to reach the next. Finding balance, you repeat the movements through ten ropes, practicing the physical process of moving forward through letting go. This idea is easily extrapolated into the larger life context of letting go of the past, focusing on the present and remaining aware of where you want to go. Stretch yourself and practice letting go as you traverse a cable 35 feet high in the air, using only a series of hanging ropes to help maintain your balance.

"One thin wire, suspended high above the scorched earth of the arid desert broke me open and allowed me to accept that it's not always about the finish line...in fact, it hardly ever is." -Janice M.

Face to Face

Face to Face is a paired event which encourages you to notice how you communicate with another person under stress. Moving together slowly and intentionally engages ideas of trust, commitment and how to balance self-care and support of a partner

The cables of Face to Face are intentionally spread too far apart for you to reach the end of the "V." Because there is no clear ending point to the event, and therefore no concrete goal, you are challenged to stay present where you are. This is a great event for "Type A" personalities because of the necessity to slow down. It also helps strengthen personal or professional relationships.

Explore the balance between self-care and support of others as you move in pairs across cables suspended 30-feet off the ground.

* Wear closed toed sturdy shoes, preferably sneakers. You will be harnessed during this challenge, so carefully consider your choice of pants, comfortable yoga pants or longer shorts are desirable rather than heavier options like jeans. Don’t forget your Miraval water bottle!

Giant's Ladder

Progress on Giant's Ladder requires teamwork and trust. You are challenged to let go of control, accept help, and offer support to others. Giant's Ladder requires continued problem solving, which encourages open, flexible communication and thinking beyond the apparent options. Because the activity is strenuous, groups often decide to stop partway up the ladder. This adds an element of patience and redefining what it means to succeed. Giant's Ladder is a great event for those who want to practice teamwork and moment-to-moment living. Integrate the importance of trust, balance, and cooperation as you climb a 40-foot ladder.

* Wear closed toed sturdy shoes, preferably sneakers. You will be harnessed during this challenge, so carefully consider your choice of pants, comfortable yoga pants or longer shorts are desirable rather than heavier options like jeans. Don’t forget your Miraval water bottle!
