Hone your skills in the warm shade of the Santa Catalina Mountains of Arizona during a unique photo retreat at the acclaimed Miraval Resort and Spa. On daily excursions, photograph stunning mountain vistas, the stark beauty of the Sonoran Desert, and the historic center of Tucson. Zoom in on giant desert cacti, and capture images of the Navajo hoop dance during a private performance. Then enjoy the fabulous spa facilities; invigorating outdoor activities; and fresh, healthy cuisine at Miraval.
These workshops—each led by a National Geographic photographer and a professional instructor—are designed for amateurs who are interested in improving their digital photography. All participants must bring a digital SLR camera, a laptop computer, and software for organizing and presenting images. Each weekend workshop is limited to 25 students.
We have a planned itinerary ; however, our schedule is flexible to allow for spontaneous photographic opportunities. Download more information.
When you put your camera down, the explorations you’ll engage in at Miraval are not just of the outdoor sort. At this acclaimed destination spa and retreat, the desert landscape is typically the spark that ignites an inner voyage. Visitors come here to rejuvenate, and they do it in myriad ways, from hiking in the Sonoran Desert to horseback riding, and dining on sustainable and healthy cuisine. There are also fabulous spa resources and an unrivaled team of well-being specialists to help you recharge your body and mind.
Note: This workshop includes a $150 credit per person per stay to be used toward spa services or other optional program activities.
