ELISE BANKS
Elise Banks is a clinical psychotherapist in the Houston area serving in private practice. Her work specializes in depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation and addiction. Elise’s passion for mental health extends beyond her offices, where she serves as President for the Board of Directors for NAMI Texas. She also serves on the Foundation Board for Menninger Clinic, one of the nation’s top psychiatric facilities.
She serves as a National Ambassador for NAMI and travels extensively to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and uses her social media to advocate for mental health, women empowerment, and positive social change.
Vanessa Fernandes-Randall
Vanessa Fernandes Randall is the 1st Vice President of the board of directors of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Vanessa is also a Chief Operating Officer for The Tradition Senior Living based in Dallas, TX. Vanessa devotes herself to mental health education and advocacy after years of serving a multi-generational workforce navigating mental health and needs in the workplace.
Vanessa’s values of authenticity, respect, action, family & fun stem from her experience growing up in India and moving to the U.S. 26 years ago. Vanessa found her footing in a new culture while growing her career in retail management as a single mom through her community connections and personal drive. Vanessa also survived the tragic loss of family members to suicide and found strength from serving others who are dealing with the impact of mental illness. From these experiences, Vanessa recognizes the importance of community, belonging, engagement, mental health support and leads the conversation on these topics in communities nationwide.
Diana Raab, PhD
Diana Raab, MFA, PhD, is a memoirist, poet, blogger, speaker, and award-winning author of thirteen books. Her work has been published and anthologized in thousands of publications. Raab frequently speaks on writing for healing and transformation. She facilitates nation-wide workshops and has taught at numerous learning centers, most notably with Mystic Journey, UCLA Extension, UCSB Extension, The Santa Barbara Writers Conference, 1440 Multiversity, and Hugo House to name a few.
Raab blogs for Psychology Today, The Wisdom Daily, The Good Men Project, Thrive Global, and is also a frequent guest blogger. She’s the author of two memoirs: Regina’s Closet: Finding My Grandmother’s Secret Journal and Healing with Words: A Writer’s Cancer Journey. Raab has also written four poetry collections, and most recently, An Imaginary Affair: Poems Whispered to Neruda. She’s also editor of two anthologies: Writers and Their Notebooks and Writers on the Edge.
Amy Gallo
Amy Gallo is a workplace expert who writes and speaks about gender, interpersonal dynamics, difficult conversations, feedback, and effective communication. She works with individuals and teams to help them better collaborate, communicate, and transform their culture to support dissent and debate. Gallo is the best-selling author of: Getting Along: How to Work with Anyone (Even Difficult People and the HBR Guide to Dealing with Conflict. She has written hundreds of articles for Harvard Business Review, where she is a contributing editor. Her writing has been collected in numerous books including ones on feedback, emotional intelligence, and managing others.
Gallo has delivered keynotes and workshops at hundreds of companies and conferences. Plus, she is frequently sought out by media outlets for her perspective on workplace dynamics, conflict, and difficult conversations. Her advice has been featured in the New York Times,, the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Marketplace, and The Austin American-Statesman, as well as on WNYC, the BBC, and ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation).
