Hike Week

November 15 - 21, 2026

Step beyond the resort and into the landscapes that shape Arizona during Hike Week at Miraval. Each day, a Miraval guide leads guests on an off-property hike through the Sonoran Desert, inviting them to move with intention, discover new perspectives and experience the quiet power of the natural world.

Sunday, November 15
Blackett's Ridge
Travel one hour to Sabino Canyon Recreation Area for a 6.8-mile out-and-back hike to Blackett’s Ridge, with 1,900 feet of elevation gain and expansive views of eastern Tucson. Rated hard and recommended for advanced, experienced hikers, this rewarding excursion begins Hike Week. Hiking shoes are strongly recommended. A full-size backpack with water, a packed lunch and optional trekking poles is provided.
Monday, November 16
Yoga Hike
Experience an Outback Hike enhanced by a 30-minute yoga flow focused on leg strength and standing balance. This 3–4-mile hike covers rocky, uneven trails with 300–400 feet of elevation gain before pausing on a large rock overlook for yoga. Return to the property through a silent meditative hike. A hip pack, water bottle and small yoga mat are provided; trekking poles are available upon request.
Tuesday, November 17
Agua Caliente
Travel one hour to Agua Caliente Hill Trail for a 9-mile out-and-back hike with 2,900 feet of elevation gain and panoramic views of the Tucson Valley. Rated hard and recommended for advanced, experienced hikers, this midpoint hike builds strength and endurance ahead of Thursday’s final excursion. Hiking shoes are strongly recommended. A full-size backpack with water, a packed lunch and optional trekking poles is provided.
Wednesday, November 18
Hiking 101: 4-Hour Outback Hike
Venture beyond Miraval’s usual two-hour Outback Hike to explore farther into the Coronado National Forest. Along the way, learn more about the Sonoran Desert and take in expansive views of the Catalina Mountains. A hip pack and water bottle are provided; trekking poles are available upon request.
Wednesday, November 18
Hiking 101: Mindful Hiking Lecture
Learn the fundamentals of hike preparation, essential gear and trail techniques in this practical lecture focused on the first Leave No Trace principle: “Plan Ahead and Prepare.” Explore how thoughtful itinerary planning supports safety, encourages environmental stewardship and allows you to move through the outdoors with greater confidence and awareness. Grounded in Miraval’s philosophy of intentional living, this session offers tools to make every hike more considered and rewarding.
Thursday, November 19
Mt. Wrightson
Travel 1.5 hours to the Santa Rita Mountains for a 10.6-mile out-and-back hike on Old Baldy Trail to Mount Wrightson. With 4,000 feet of elevation gain and rocky, uneven terrain, this hard hike is recommended for advanced, experienced hikers. As the culminating hike of Hike Week, it offers diverse vegetation and expansive vistas. Hiking shoes are strongly recommended. A full-size backpack with water, a packed lunch and optional trekking poles is provided.
Friday, November 20
Sunset Reflection Hike (Drawn to Nature)
Conclude the week with a guided hike that invites connection, reflection and creative expression. Along the way, pause for a grounding practice and use art to explore what you notice within yourself and in the surrounding landscape. No prior art experience is necessary—this experience is centered on presence, reflection and the process of creating. Closed-toed shoes required.
