Where it Began
Miraval emerged in 1995, at our flagship Tucson, AZ location with a unique vision: Everyone can achieve a life in balance. And today, as part of the Hyatt family, Miraval is expanding this mindful approach across the U.S. and the world.
On a patch of desert, among the mesquite trees, saguaros, and prickly pear, Miraval quietly opened its doors, offering something new to the world. Part experiment, part personal dream, it took its name from two Spanish words, combined to mean “view of the valley.” That view has inspired, humbled and transported visitors as they discover the mountains ringing that same valley, revealing treasure in its trails.
Miraval has been called many things: consciousness camp, desert oasis, wellness resort. It is also, at heart, a family. Over the years, our guests, specialists, staff, and partners have organically grown with Miraval, forming a new, extended family.
